Firewood Central Coast

In this video I showcase some of the firewood products that we will be supplying to Gosford and Wyong residents of the Central Coast NSW this coming winter.

I’m William Jones from The Green Yard, Central Coast landscape, garden and firewood suppliers.  Today I’d like to run you through some of the firewood products that we’ll be selling this winter. Our first featured product is Western Ironbark and Box, both slow growing, dense Australian hardwoods, sourced from western New South Wales.  This firewood from western New South Wales comes from approved forestry practices and is in fact a waste product, so using this firewood, you’re not contributing to any land clearing or deforestation.

Western Ironbark

Looking at this product, it’s very dry.  It’s all gone grey.  It’s been sitting here for about two years.  Knocking a few bits together, you can tell how hard it is.  It’s all rock solid firewood.  And you can see in your loads you’ll get from us, you’ll get a mixture of small, medium and larger pieces.  And that’s our Ironbark and Box firewood product, guaranteed well seasoned.       The next product we have is our Western mixed Australian Hardwoods, also well seasoned, and this is a mixture of Stringy Bark, Tallowwood and Bloodwood, also from western New South Wales; slow growing dense timbers, not quite as dense as your Ironbark and Box but still very hard Australian timbers.  Same mixture of sizes, same great burning product.

A new product we are doing this year is mixed Australian hardwoods and sawmill off-cut.  Now this sawmill off-cut is exactly the same timber as this split firewood.  They’re just a beautiful selection of small and medium pieces.  And we mix this 30% off-cut with 70% split hardwood. The beauty of it is you don’t need to split any wood to get your fire going.  You just throw in a few little pieces of off-cut.  They’re quite thin so they’re super dry.  They ignite very easily.  Start your fire with those.  Throw in a few larger pieces of the off-cut.  And then save your nice chunky bits for overnight burning. This mix is my pick of the bunch.  There’s nothing worse than having to go home, split wood and struggle to get your fire going when you can just throw in a few pieces of the off-cut and throw the big bits on later. … the last firewood products we just talked about are sourced from western New South Wales; very dense hard, dry timbers.  They’re our premium product and next I’ll show you our budget Australian Hardwood mix.

Local Hardwoods

Local Hardwoods

This is our Local Hardwood mix.  We source this from our local tree lopping and tree removal operations here in the Central Coast of New South Wales.  We split this wood ourselves so we can offer it at a discounted price to our premium imported product.  It has been seasoned for over a year.  It’s dry, split.  It consists of Blue Gum, Blackbutt, Bloodwood, Stringy Bark and Iron Bark. That’s a brief overview of the firewood products we will be supplying to the Central Coast this coming winter.  We will be delivering to all suburbs of the Gosford and Wyong Shire Council regions. We currently have a pre-season sale, 15% off all our firewood products up until April 2014.  If you have any questions, please visit our website at www.thegreenyard.com.au or take advantage of our sale and come and see us at our yard at 107 Gavenlock Road, Tuggerah.  Hopefully see you there.
